Roll Up, Roll Up to The Shoe Carnival @ Selfridges

The Shoe Carnival at Selfridges Trafford
Shoes glorious shoes was very much the focus of my evening last night when I attended The Shoe Carnival Party at Selfridges Trafford Centre.

With an abundance of gorgeous shoes on offer at any Selfridges store, it's nice to see some focus on the wardrobe item that always fits.. SHOES!

The event celebrated the shoe in all its forms, from the dizzy heights of a killer heel to a slighly safer embellished flat.. I was in foot paradise as I wandered round all of the brands and took in all the latest styles!

Studs and embellishments seem to be the look du jour with a vast majority of designs featuring one or both of the two, along with some flashes of colour. Neon is also thrown into the mix for the braver shoe wearer, along with the staple classics that always remain an integral part of any fashionista's wardrobe, much like the waltzers at the Carnival. It might not be the scariest of rides but it's always fun and suits all ages!

In genuine Carnival style, attendees were treated to colourful fruit smoothies and candy floss, pictured having a ball in the photobooth and the most exciting gimmick of the event was the special guests; The Bumby’s – world famous and flown in especially from LA!

Gill and Jill Bumby are anonymous performance artists who give ‘Fair and Honest Appraisals of Your Appearance’ with their manual typewriters and charming wit! I must admit I did feel slightly nervous as I got a look up a down from behind a pair of sunglasses, not dissimilar to a certain Ms Wintour and furious tapping at the Type Writer commenced! This is what the Bumby's wrote about me, I will take that 9.6 rather happily!!

All in all it was a fantastic event and I really enjoyed it, I'm off to plan a party now seeing as I apparently get the perfect mix of the A-List Glam and scuzzy but fun gutter trash invited ;o)
