LIME CRIME LOVE

Doe Deere is a native of Russia, and moved to New York City as a teenager. She is also the founder and CEO of Lime Crime Cosmetics, a company that sells vegan and cruelty-free lipsticks, nail polishes and eye shadows. Deere is known for her bold makeup style and fashion choices, and has also given a wealth of information to young entrepreneurs who want to build their brands.

Doe shares that she doesn't define beauty as what looks familiar or natural to people. She feels that beauty is doing what feels right in the moment, which was the motivation behind her company launch in 2008. Lime Crime offers vibrant and eye-catching shades for consumers to enjoy, and the company has a huge fan following around the world.

Deere also lets consumers know that she started off small, and decided to achieve greatness by following her own rules. She is a known supporter of woman-owned companies and often speaks to women about following their passions at events like Vegas Nay's Stardust Tour and PHAMExpo. She also welcomes these aspiring business owners to keep in touch with her for business advice through Instagram.

On a typical day, Doe has a meeting with her creative director to go over strategies and projects. She then meets with her president and vice president, followed by a meeting with her COO. Deere shares that lots of meetings ensures that everyone on her team is working together to reach a common goal. She also works on visuals during the day, or goes to her "lab" to develop new products with a chemist. She shares that during busy days, she rarely has time to sit at her desk, and answers emails from her phone when she's on the go.

Deere brings her ideas to fruition by waiting to be inspired. She admits that sometimes she waits for months before acting on an idea. She also states that when she's considering introducing a new product, she always tries it on herself first. Deere says that it's important to "live and feel" the product before sharing it with customers. This way, she can be sure the product is authentic and will make customers look and feel their best.

Deere was even asked about the one business idea that she wouldn't mind sharing with readers. She admits that she'd love for someone to start a super girly shoe line that features bright colors. Of course, the shoes would go great with her Lime Crime products!
