20 Small Pleasures

'Life is full of simple pleasures'
  1. A good hair or face day.
  2. Receiving an early morning text, meaning you were someone's first thought of the day.
  3. That lovely warm feeling on your cheeks after a day sunbathing (with SPF on.. obvs).
  4. A perfectly formed, instagram worthy protein pancake that must be shared.
  5. Taking a selfie that doesn't require ALL THE FILTERS.
  6. Waking up with a purpose and feeling positive.
  7. Malibu and steel drums.
  8. A cuddle with an animal (I'm thinking pets here more than an embrace with a cow but whatever floats your boat).
  9. A new lipstick.
  10. Fresh bedlinen.
  11. Trying something on on a whim and it looking great.
  12. The smell of suncream.
  13. A glass of red after a long day.
  14. Looking through old photos.
  15. Catching up with an old friend.
  16. CAKE.
  17. Listening to live music.
  18. Laughing so hard that your stomach hurts.
  19. A lie in on a Sunday.
  20. The sound of rain.

Victoria Highfield Jewellers Didsbury

VICTORIA HIGHFIELD JEWELLERS
On Thursday evening I headed to Victoria Highfield Jewellers which is a gorgeous little Jewellers based in Didsbury Village.

The event was organised by Ledigo PR and we were treated to fizz, orange juice, seriously scrummy cupcakes by Zara Cakes and canapes by Gusto Didsbury! Once we had been fed and watered, myself and the lovely Lily Kitten were shown some amazingly sparkly pieces!!!!

The beauty of the shop is that they can design bespoke jewellery settings with any spare diamonds you have lying around (oh how I wish that was a problem I have). We were allowed to try on some of the rings and I found myself drooling over the above!

Not something I would want gracing my engagement finger (mainly because I would be terrified of losing it!!) but they were absolutely stunning. I am more of a gold and emerald kinda gal - FYI future husband.

All in all it was a really lovely way to spend a Thursday evening and I can genuinely say the quality of some of the pieces were outstanding! They sell a variety of jewellery brands so definitely head on in if you are looking to make a special purchase!!!

Hobbs Manchester Pop Up Shop

You may have noticed a rather lovely addition to the shop portfolio on King Street in the form of a Hobbs Pop Up Shop!!

Housing high end, premium wardrobe staples, Hobbs is an English institution who create beautifully timeless pieces that could feasibly slot into anyone's wardrobe no matter what your style!

Hobbs have taken some prime real estate on King Street in Manchester and the shop is just gorgeous. Their spring summer collection is filled with pastels, crisp whites and a few brights thrown in too.

Hobbs treated me to an item of my choice and having never shopped at Hobbs before I wasn't sure what I would find to buy! I opted for a gorgeous pair of jeans and whilst they are way more expensive than what I would usually go for, they are such high quality!

If you are off for some shopping in Manchester then definitely head down!

Barrecore Manchester

Barrecore Manchester
Last Wednesday I tried a sampler of the new way to workout, Barrecore!

Inspired by Ballet moves, the classes use small movements and postural exercises to promote fat burning, toning and stretching.

The taster class was hosted by Selfridges in Exchange Square Manchester, in conjunction with Sweaty Betty.

I had a 20 minute class and I can honestly say I was genuinely quite shocked at how obviously effective the taster session was in that time! I was sweating, aching and knew that I would hurt in the days after...

I really really enjoyed the movements done, everything was doable, what was difficult was that the longer you hold or with each repetition, the burn came on with vengeance!

I'm going to head to their Alderley Edge Studio in the next couple of weeks to give a proper class a try, I will report back!

Big thanks to Selfridges for inviting me and for the amazing makeover I was treated to with Tom Ford Cosmetics!! :)

Mira #ShowerPerfection Shower Head

MIRA SHOWERS
When you live in rented accomodation, one of the most annoying things can be those feeble showers that get installed on the cheap and you end up dithering under a trickle of water!!!

When Mira Showers contacted me to show me how they could improve it with one small attachment that would revolutionise our shower, without any additional costs to our monthly bills I was intrigued! Part of me was quite sceptical that as someone who is in no way talented with plumbing, this *could* be an accident waiting to happen...

How wrong was I?! The RRP of the 360 Shower Head is £64* which when you have a bit of a crappy shower that you didn't think you could do anything about, is pretty good! I was treated to the Mira 360m Four Spray Shower Head plus some Shiseido goodies and I installed the shower head earlier this week.

Annoyingly, the picture I have will not play ball and I cannot upload it on here without it inexplicably coming out on it's side, so head over to my instagram and twitter to see how it looks!

It was so easy to screw in and it has completely improved my showering experience!!! I love it and I can't recommend it enough! :)

Elegance Hair and Beauty

Elegance Hair and Beauty Hyde
A few weeks back, I visited a rather lovely little salon in Hyde for some well needed R&R!

I had a dermalogica facial, which was just bliss and a blow dry! The beauty of Elegance Hair and Beauty is that it is a mere 20 minutes from my flat and it is really nice, welcoming and good quality treatments for very competitive prices.

My skin had been a little unhappy so the dermalogica facial really brightened and freshened up my skin for me. The treatment room was super comfortable and I could have fallen straight to sleep! The blow dry was also a really nice treat and the milkshake products used smell good enough to eat!

For more information please visit their website and get yourselves booked in!!! :)

Parklife Love 2015

Parklife Festival 2015
I am just about recovered from my weekend at Parklife Festival as a VIP Guest of ID&C Wristbands! What a weekend it was!!! I had an amazing time and I just want to initially thank ID&C Wristbands for the very kind invite. Funnily enough, this year's wristband was my first ever festival wristband and I have to say I loved it!

I have always admired those who spend their summers filling their wrists with festival bands and I was delighted to have one of my very own :)

My highlights from the weekend had to be listening to Mark Ronson on Saturday and Jessie Ware on Sunday who was just amazing.

As always, I LOVE people watching and taking in the festival fashion, the outfits ranged from the crazy to the super preened and I'd like to think that I fit somewhere in the middle... One thing I will say is for those of you dressing for the sunshine, I really do not know how you didn't freeze!!! The weather was gorgeous but Heaton Park is rather exposed so felt a little chilly at times! Maybe I didn't party *quite* hard enough to not feel the cold.. haha!

My festival essentials have to be; a cross the body bag, comfy shoes as you WILL have to do considerable amounts of walking/standing, wet wipes, tissues (the toilet paper in the toilets runs out pretty quick!), suncream - you may not be able to take this in with you depending on the security but as you are often quite exposed so I apply spf just to be on the safe side!! I also applied a layer of my fave Cocoa Brown Tan just so I felt bronzed for my pics, lip balm and general accessories. Festivals are a fab way to wear all the floral hairbands and let your inner hippy run wild.

I had the best time, and I'm already looking forward to next year :)

Nakd Nibbles

When you are out and about and trying to be healthy, it can sometimes be a pain to find something to keep your hunger at bay and still remain on the bandwagon!

I was sent through these lovely little bags of Nakd Nibbles to try out and they are SO NICE!

They taste exactly like the flavour which when you see that they only contain smushed fruit and nuts, I think is pretty damn spectacular! They are wheat, dairy and gluten free and I will definitely be picking these bad boys up to keep in my snack drawer at work!!

Packs cost just 80p and are available now at Asda and online here :)

Every Little Helps

FRANCIS HOUSE CHILDREN'S HOSPICE
Just a quick post from me today, I wanted to ask for your support in me nominating the wonderful Francis House Children's Hospice to receive some assistance from Ocean Finance (details here).

There are a number of ways that Team Ocean Finance could help Francis House and I want to win them the opportunity due to the incredible work they do, day on day. Francis House is situated in Didsbury, Manchester, and provides care for children with a short life expectancy and their families.

I was fortunate enough to visit the hospice a few weeks back and it is truly an inspiring place. Receiving only 13% of their annual running costs from the government and relying on donations and support from the community, I strongly feel that the charity is so deserving of this help!
