New Year's Eve Beauty

I think it's clear for everyone to see that I love glitter. ------>

So, naturally my NYE look will include lots of the sparkly stuff! For Christmas I got Charlotte Tilbury's Rock Chick Palette so I am MOST excited to give it a whirl!!!

My plans are a low key night in but I see no reason why I can't dress comfy but glam myself up.

What are your plans?!

Skincare Secrets with Kylie Jenner

I don't think it will come as any surprise that anything a Kardashian/Jenner is happy to endorse will (within reason and ease of sourcing) will make it's way into my mitts. Kylie has recently been named as Nip + Fab's ambassador so naturally I was intrigued to see what the hype is about!

Available direct from Nip +Fab, selected Boots Stores and ASOS, Kylie has a few faves that I have tried. I think the product that has received the most attention is the Dragon's Blood Fix Serum and for love nor money I could not get my hands on the stuff!

I tried the Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads and I can report that I absolutely LOVE them. For me, exfoliation is something I know I have to do but hate doing if it's a scrub. My face really does not enjoy the sensation of having rough bits rubbed over it so having the effect without the burny uncomfortable feeling is an absolute revelation!

The next two items are perfect for this time of year when skin can be dry and flaky as a result of all the heating and cold temperatures. The Kale Fix Clay Mask is super nourishing and just plumps the skin back up, the matching Kale Fix Moisturiser keeps that going and is a wonderful pre-makeup morning treat. I'm informed Kylie uses the moisturiser and then the serum so if it's good enough for her and all that!!

You can shop Kylie's Picks here. If you have Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket and want to treat yourself to some affordable skincare then I would highly recommend Nip + Fab!

Fail to Prepare

There's a couple of things on my 2016 to do list that I thought I would share with you in advance of all the usual new year, new me malarkey. My list isn't so much about that and is more an update as to what will be going on my normal to do list which you can view here!

I have some activities I want to do next year so why not share them with my lovely readers!
  1. Go to Harry Potter World.
  2. Lose 3 Stone.
  3. Improve my photography.
  4. Attend 2 Makeup Masterclasses (more on that soon.. there's one coming up in Manchester and I want to go to a Peaches and Cream Masterclass in Liverpool too!)
  5. Attend a Caligraphy Class.
  6. Do the Manchester 10k for the third time in support of Francis House Children's Hospice!
  7. Give Blood.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Did you know that all over the world lots of interesting traditions are celebrated at Christmas?
  • In France, Christmas trees have never been particularly popular, but they do love a good Yule log!
  • In Denmark, a special rice pudding is served for desert which has one single almond is hidden in it - whoever finds this almond is thought to have good luck for the coming year.
  • And in Greece presents aren’t given until the 1st January! (WHAT?!)
In my family we have a few traditions that have stuck with us from childhood to adulthood and will undoubtedly be passed on to my future children!

We are all quite major Christmas fans so we tend to decorate quite early to enjoy as much glitter as possible. I also buy the mulled wine or apple spice plug ins and air freshener as early as I can get my paws on it so that my flat smells nice and festive!

Each year, I make the Manchester Christmas Markets a priority visit so I can soak up the atmosphere and have a mulled wine (or two!) and then I usually save my Christmas shopping until December! I know people will think I am mad but I genuinely enjoy the hustle and bustle and the fact that you will most likely hear a brass band playing Christmas songs :)

On Christmas Eve we all get new PJs so that we are photograph worthy on Christmas morning. We always used to be made to sit on the stairs whilst my dad checked that Santa had been and then we all sit and open presents together, starting with exchanging sister presents! We usually have dinner quite late in the day and just have a nice relaxing day with the evening turning slightly more boozy..

I absolutely adore Christmas and it's not the presents that make it special. It's the fact that you end up making the extra effort to see loved ones and you can walk down the street and everyone has a skip in their step and smiles all round. I totally appreciate that isn't how everyone's Christmas is and I do always spare a thought for those less fortunate than me. I am grateful for the position I am in and certainly don't take it for granted.

White Stuff have helped me keep the festive spirit alive by sending me a lovely Christmas package containing some super cute decorations, Christmas crackers and a gorgeous tunic that I absolutely love! So all that is left for me to do is get snug and eat, drink and be merry. Wishing you all the most wonderful Christmas!!!

One thing I always LOVE about Christmas is the guilt-free lazing around in PJs which can last for days at a time. We always (since we have been little) have got a new set of  PJs on Christmas Eve and I basically don't get dressed unless I am going out anyway!

I've been drooling over some of the PJ picks from ASOS and Victoria's Secret (especially after the fashion show!) and I will definitely put on them on by sales buy list!

I'll be honest I am dreaming of slipping into PJs already... :)

Nouveau Lashes #LashGang Task 2

As you may be aware, I am part of Nouveau Lashes #LashGang and the latest task was to try out their Express Treatment and show you how easy it is to remove the lashes at home!

Express Lashes are designed to be worn for a short period of time so are perfect for the party season as they are very easily removed at home and without damaging your own lashes!!

The top picture shows the lashes on as I have started to remove them from the outer corner with the Nouveau Lashes Lash Remover.

The middle shows the lashes coming off easily and the last picture is me with normal makeup on and hopefully showing that I have no gaps :)

I really thought the treatment is fab for people who want lashes for an event but don't want the upkeep of longer lasting lashes. They are applied as small clumps of lashes so achieve the wide eyed glam look that is a must over the festive season! If you are interested in finding a salon near you who does the treatment then just click here to view the salon finder.

I also have to mention that the remover is NOTHING like the one you can buy from high street chemists from a popular eyelash brand.. that stuff has put me off semi permanent lashes after being so harsh that it also removed my nail polish as well as the eyelashes I was wearing ....

Christmas Gifting with Flamingo Gifts

Jammy Dodger Cushion / Stag Jewellery Tray / Reindeer Ring Holder / Ted Baker Travel Set
Yay it's Christmas!!! I loveeee buying presents for my loved ones, but sometimes I just can't find something cute and unique!!

I've talked about Flamingo Gifts before on SweetieSal and I thought I would once again proclaim my love for the site as a one stop shop for all those hard to buy for pals or stuff you want but didn't know you need! I genuinely would recommend the site and with only a few more shopping days left before Christmas I would urge you to have a look :)

I'm in the Nouveau Lashes #LashGang

With Christmas Party Season upon us, the glamour stakes have increased and us ladies want to feel our best. I love wearing false lashes to make my makeup that bit more dramatic so when I was contacted to be in the #lashgang by Nouveau Lashes, I jumped at the chance!!

My first task was to apply strip lashes like a pro.. I usually cut them in half and apply a half at a time, which can be a good way of making it a little easier for yourself! This time though I set myself the challenge of applying the full strip using the above instruction video.

It was actually alot easier than I thought it would be and I LOVE the lashes I was sent to play with which were part of the Volume Collection and were Style 4.

There are many others to choose from, all available to purchase online and really high quality.

My next task is to sample express lashes for Christmas! Stay tuned for more news from the #lashgang :)

There are some brands that you do a happy dance for when they contact you, and Soap and Glory is one of those for me!

Soap and Glory's 'Glory Girls' were in Manchester last Friday and Saturday spreading their festive cheer and helping glam up shoppers in the Manchester Arndale. I was treated to a mini makeover (apologies for how tired I look in the above pic.. I was a little hungover) and some samples of their gorgeously scented products.

I had never tried Soap and Glory's cosmetics and I have to say I am very impressed! My ultimate fave collection has to be the Sugar Crush Scent though as it is just the most amazing smell!!!!!

Guaranteed to put a smile on any pampered princesses face, Soap and Glory products are a sure win Christmas Gift idea so head to Boots to check out all the gift sets!
