#MyFirstBikini Update.. 2 Weeks to Go!

The time has ran away with me and we are now 2 weeks until I hit Marbs for my friend's Hen Do and get into a bikini for the very first time ever...

I have probably gone a bit quiet on the #myfirstbikini front and that is because to be honest I felt like having me harp on every couple of weeks would probably get a bit boring and I don't really have any big news to relay to you.

I think as the time has come on throughout my attempts to shed the weight, I have had weeks where I have lost my motivation and I am still not sure if I feel ready to bare the flesh fully on holiday - but I think it is perfectly normal.

Being body confident is much more of a state of mind than I ever thought and whilst I have come a long way I am terrified at the thought of baring my problem area - my stomach!

My gorgeous Freya Bikini will be coming in the suitcase with me and I am hoping that I will wear it once the ghostly skin colour gets a little more bronzed...

In terms of how I am getting on - I am really chuffed with my progress. This is definitely the longest I have stuck at a fitness regime and I have lost 37lbs of fat mass in approx 10 weeks which I am really genuinely pleased with.

I have started going to the bootcamps at the gym, have kept up my training sessions with Chris once a week and I have really noticed that my fitness and general health has improved no end!

I will keep you all posted with my progress and if I dare to bare when in Marbs!

#HolidayHotPicks: Topshop

All items available on www.topshop.com
We've seen a bit of sunshine this week so I thought I would continue with my #holidayhotpicks posts and basically go online window shopping for some summer treats.

Topshop is also up there in terms of their warm weather offerings with sections dedicated to festival fashion and beach wear.

I seem to have a very set colour palette featuring peaches and pinks and some green items thrown in for a colour clash.

I love the neon leopard print of the strappy cami and the luxe joggers - it devastates me that I didn't pick up the strappy cami when I had the chance as I can only see size 4 available on their website now.. boooo :o( I am tempted by the joggers though as we have seen alot more printed trousers on the high street and I think these would be perfect for travelling, or with a simple black t-shirt and wedges for a holiday meal or night out.

I am really loving green at the moment and both of the bags would make welcome additions to my bag collection. The fold over clutch is such a unique colour and looks almost neon so would look great as a colour pop against a summer outfit. The woven tan bag I think is the perfect travelling, beach and day time bag with it's floppy texture, long strap and shorter handles which would look great paired with white, some tan sandals and a flower hairband.

Which brings me nicely on to.. the flower hair band. A favourite with festival lovers, I absolutely adore the look of flower hair bands but unless I'm on holiday I feel a bit silly in them. I am going to embrace the look on holiday though and bring out the flower power!

Aviators are a holiday essential for me as I think the shape suits literally every face shape, I also really liked this electric blue swimsuit - I think the colour would look fabulous with a tan!

Last of all I picked out two dresses, the pink cow print stretch midi dress and the lace kaftan/dress in a beautiful coral colour. Both would be fab to just throw on for holiday dining or partying, or even during the day with flip flops.

What's on your summer shopping list?

Review: MyCocktail / MyMocktail

I am a huge cocktail fan so when I was contacted to ask if I wanted to try some cocktails by MyCocktail and MyMocktail I jumped at the chance!

I was sent the Lime MarGOrita and Pina Colada juice to try and me and my flatmate gave them a whirl before a night out at the weekend. I love frozen cocktails but wouldn't have the foggiest as to how to make them at home - the Lime MarGOrita is a blend of lime and tequila, ready mixed in a freezable pouch that you freeze for 3 hours. You can purchase the cocktails from Asda for a bargainous price of £7.50 for 4 300ml pouches! They are also available in a Strawberry DaiqGOri flavour too, think I will have to give that flavour a try next!

The Pina Colada mix is gorgeous and can be enjoyed with or without alcohol, so just add a dash of white rum and you are good to go!

I love that this company are Manchester based and I definitely will be trying more of their products. They were good quality, well packaged and a fun concept for cocktails to enjoy at home for those of us who have not got a flair bartender qualification under our belts..

For more information check out their website; www.manchesterdrinks.com, Facebook Page or Twitter.

Beauty Works Festival Flower Band

In the run up to Glastonbury this weekend I had to show you this super cute festival flower braid from Beauty Works!

Perfect for disguising less than fresh locks - mine is second day hair on the above pics, freshened up with some VO5 Plumping Dry Shampoo and I have added the flower band to liven up an otherwise boring hairstyle.

They are currently on sale for £7.99 and come in a variety of shades so no need to worry about a colour match! If you are unsure about what shade to go for then contact Beauty Works via their Facebook Page or Twitter.

Hurry and order now! :o)

Clarks #FreeYourFeet Blogger Competition

Studio Beat Sandals - www.clarks.co.uk
Necklace, Dress and Clutch all from ASOS
I was recently contacted by Clarks to take part in their #FreeYourFeet Blogger Competition where I had to style up a pair of their gorgeous 'Studio Beat Sandals' as pictured above.

We have all been enjoying the sunshine over the past few days and I have been reaching for my sandals every day to keep my feet cool and comfortable in the hot weather. My summer style up of the sandals is quite simple but one that would be perfect for a day out shopping with your pals, an afternoon in a beer garden or on date night!

I have made use of the mix of gold and silver in the sandals and kept the accessories along similar colour hues and then picked out a pop of colour with this berry coloured jersey dress.

Create beachy hair and bronzed make up and you have one easy to achieve, comfortable but stylish summer outfit.

I was fortunate enough to be sent a pair of the Studio Beat Sandals of my very own and first things first - good lord why do other suppliers of sandals not put in the comfy pads in the ball and heel of the sandals like these? They are without a shadow of a doubt the most comfortable sandals I own and I really like the simplicity of them and the fact you can pair them with gold or silver. These will definitely become a great addition to my summer wardrobe! :o)

A big thank you to Clarks for asking me to take part!

Review: Washi Face Cloths

Washi Hot Cloths

Today I am presenting you with a review of the Washi Skin Polishing Kit I received in my goodie bag from the North Meet Up hosted by Em of EmTalks. Having previously used the Liz Earle Muslin Cloth combo I was quite excited to give these a whirl, especially as I have a thing about gritty exfoliators!

These are pretty much a flannel but with the towelly bits positioned slightly differently. They worked really nicely with my normal facial cleanser (currently using La Roche Posay Effaclar Face Wash) and exfoliated my face without leaving it sore or dry. It helped remove every bit of makeup from my face and I am generally really impressed with the product overall. I am also informed that they are great at removing fake tan errors!

One thing I will say that is slightly negative though is that I have googled the cloths and where to purchase and from what I can see you can only buy them direct (the link is under the image above), I personally like to give things like this a bit of a feel before I purchase as if they are too rough then my face does not like it! It doesn't mean to say you can't get them elsewhere but I have no idea where or if you can.. perhaps one of you can enlighten me?

All in all though I really like the Washi Cloths and would recommend them as a cheap and effective alternative to the Liz Earle/Muslin Cloth approach :o)

Review: Redken Real Control

Redken Real Control Products
You know when you see a picture of yourself and think, good lord I need a hair cut NOW?! I had one of those moments over bank holiday weekend and decided that I needed to sort out my hair, get all the dead ends off and finally have some form of shape back to my barnet.

Whilst I was having my hair trimmed, the hair stylist commented that my hair needed some serious TLC, (it did in fairness) and that through colouring and being generally knotty all the time it had become very elastic. The Redken Real Control Shampoo and Conditioner were recommended to me as they could improve the texture of my hair, stop the knottiness and give it the protein boost it so needed.

As I was getting fed up with spending what seemed like an AGE brushing my hair post washing I thought I would give the Shampoo and Conditioner a whirl and have so far been really impressed! They smell really nice and fruity, not overbearing or too strong just a nice fresh fragrance and seemed to have worked wonders on improving the overall health and look of my hair.

I have found them for approximately £10ish each on Feel Unique so if you are suffering with stressed out locks then definitely give them a try!

#HPMLFW Bourjois

Another shamefully long overdue post from when I attended Handpicked Media's London Fashion Week Blogger Lounge!

As you may remember, Handpicked Media hosted a Blogger Lounge in the amazing One Aldwych London where Bloggers and guests could relax in between shows and I was lucky enough to get an invite! We were treated to relaxing hand and arm massages, refueled by Coconut Water and Pop Chips and Freya Lingerie showcased their latest collections.

One of the other treats attendees could make use of was to have their makeup done by Bourjois! The Makeup artist recreated looks that were being used on the Catwalks and I had a gorgeous shimmery gold eye with purple smudged onto my lower lashline which really brought of the green colour of my eyes.

The lovely PR lady offered us the chance to try some of the products and I was able to sample the Healthy Mix Foundation, Rouge Edition Lipstick in I think Shade Number 3 'Peche Cosy' and the lovely lilac shadow that had been used on me!

I tried to take a picture of the lipstick on but then was drawn to the fact that my lips need a serious exfoliation and I'll be honest no one wants to see the photo I took! I will try and get another one!

The foundation was a very welcome surprise as I had some old faithfuls that I rely on which are MAC Moisture Tint or BareMinerals Original Foundation and I don't normally mix things up, but it just goes to show that you don't have to spend a fortune on expensive bases!

The foundation is really lovely and brightening to apply and I was coloured matched as No 53 as I had a little fake tan on when they did my makeup. It is probably a little dark when I am sans tan but who cares this stuff is really lovely and I would definitely purchase it myself.

Bourjois were one of the first make up brands I tried as a young teenager with pocket money burning a hole in my pocket - hands up who else used to have an array of colours of the lipglosses with the little brush?! I am almost sad I have forgotten them along the way of trying more expensive brands, however I am now converted back to them and will definitely not be rushing to the expensive high end products anymore and giving Bourjois a whirl!

Review: Beauty Works Beehive Bun

Firstly, apologies for the iPhone pics of this - my actual camera battery died and I was dying to get this post up!

I was sent this amazing hairpiece a couple of months back by Beauty Works to review and because of my former dip dye, multi coloured hair I was unable to match it with my hair until recently when I went dark all over!

Now I am sure I am not alone here when I say that I see these amazing sock buns and people rocking artfully coiffed creations using bun rings but I just can't do it? I feel like a beauty blogger failure by admitting this but I just have not mastered the art, I don't know if my hair is just not suited to it or I am doing something wrong. So imagine my joy when this arrived in my post box and I too could partake in some bun action.

This is the EASIEST hair piece to put in and feels really secure due to the 2 different fastening methods it comes with.

I think now is the perfect time to post about the Messy Beehive Bun as with it being wedding and holiday season, you might be looking for a way to guarantee nice hair for an event. As you all know I am going to Marbs in 4 WEEKS.. and I will definitely be bringing this along as an easy, frizz free hair option that will look nice but take very little time to do.

You simply put your own hair into a bun and then pop this over the top, insert the slides underneath your hair bobble to secure it underneath and then tighten the drawstring. It takes 2 minutes to put in and looks like you have spent hours on creating the perfect bun. The hairpieces cost £30* which I can appreciate sound expensive, but I think if you ever pay for blow dries/hair up for a special occasion then let's face it you probably spend not far off that for one time.

Beauty Works hair is fantastically good quality and I am always so impressed when I see any of their products. Next up on my wishlist is the flower braid hairband...
