Harvey Nichols Manchester Beauty Bloggers Event

Christmas Windows!
Good evening!

Tonight I attended a Beauty Blogger Event hosted by Harvey Nichols in Manchester, where a fair few of us Northern Bloggers got to enjoy a series of workshops and how-to's from each of the beauty brands!

We all met in the beauty hall, admired outfits and hair styles as as bloggers tend to do.. had orange juice and prosecco and then were given our goodie bags! 5 minutes in and there were probably at least 20 very happy girls!

I headed straight to Estee Lauder with my friend to find her perfect foundation colour. The lovely lady colour matched her skin perfectly and gave her a flawless base. We discovered that she used to work in the department store where we live and had served Steph many times! Small world...

Next up we headed to Chanel to find our perfect red lip colour. Ashley on Chanel is absofrigginglutely amazing. He is so friendly and knowledgable and we loved him! He showed us how all the different reds look SO different on different skin tones? Even from my skin to my friend's skin the same colour looked more coral on her and then more red on me.. it is weird!

A red lip is lovely and festive so we were really pleased to make this wearable for us. I always thought red wouldn't suit me but it's just a matter of finding your red!

I then wanted to go to Bare Minerals to experiment with their eye colours. I use their foundation currently and as you are probably aware if you read my blog.. I LOVE IT. I definitely want to start using other products from them so was really pleased to have a smoky eye created using their smoky eyes kit. The kit contains a shimmery nude and a lovely ashy grey which combine to create the most beautiful smoky shades on the eyelid without being too dark. They also come with a double ended brush in the kit so I think that may have to make it's way onto my Christmas list! ;o)

It was a fantastic night and I am so grateful to Kate for organising and for Harvey Nichols for putting on such a fabulous event. Whoever the macaroon supplier was is a complete culinary genius!!

Here are some more pics from the event.. can't wait to read some of the other lovely Blogger's posts!

Mad Men Monday: 50s and Fabulous

Hi everyone!

Today as a part of my #MCRFW Style Posts I wanted to take a look at 50s fashion, as last night I attended a Mad Men Themed Ball at the Hilton in Manchester! The Event was in aid of Hearts and Minds Challenge that supports Children with Autism and was a celeb studded affair as many of the cast of Coronation Street, Paul Scholes, Natasha Hamilton, Melanie Sykes and Keith Duffy showing their support.

When I heard it was Mad Men themed I was really excited! The 50s, fashion wise, was very ladylike and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to hunt out an outfit making use of the 50s shapes that are in the shops at the moment!

I wore a black lace pencil skirt from Primark, paired with a lace peplum top from Dorothy Perkins, along with some lace gloves, sparkly peep toe sling back shoes and a fur trimmed shawl to keep the cold Manchester temperatures at bay!

50s beauty is all about the waved hair, long lashes and red lips which is exactly what I went for!

My hair I waved using my Enrapture Totem Styler! Since having the weave from Weave Got Style I find my hair actually easier to style if that makes sense as I have to spend less time trying to make my hair look bigger in a particular area! I still love it and I can tell the big hair is becoming an addiction.. :o)

I wore a full strip of lashes which is a first for me as normally I cut them in half and wear them in the outer corners of my eyes as I think they are SO much easier to apply and irritate my eyes less!

I have to say I think I will revert back to my half lashes as all night I was panicking they they were lifting which is never a good look!

It was a fantastic event and some well needed funds were raised for the charity which is great! I think there were probably a good few sore heads in Manchester this morning though...

Gift Guide Part 2: Shine Bright Like a Diamond...

Earrings by Kevia £60, Ring by Kevia £78, Earrings by Monica Vinader £112.50, Rings by Made £25, Earrings by Kevia £87.74
Welcome to Part 2 of my Christmas Gift Guides, tonight concentrating on The OUTNET.com!

The OUTNET is the sister site to Net-a-Porter but is the outlet store, which means some pretty amazing discounts are there to be had!

All of the above jewels should have been considerably more expensive so if you want to grab a designer purchase on a smaller budget then this is definitely the site for you.

I LOVE gold jewellery and I always think it is nice to add some red into my festive wardrobe however I don't really suit red in clothes form. I love ruby jewellery or nails to add that pop of festive colour!

So why not make someone's Christmas and pick up a treat from the Outnet?

Gift Guide Part 1: Matches Fashion

Matches Wishlist
Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Wallet / Yves Saint Laurent Ring / Rosantica Drop Earrings / Mulberry Tiger Fingerless Gloves / DVF iPad Sleeve / DVF iPhone Cover / DVF Heart Print Earphones / Jade and Gold Bracelet

So here it is Merry Christmas! Ok.. so we aren't quite there yet, but it is sneaking up on us all and before you know it you will be dashing around wondering what on earth to buy for your BFF/Boyfriend/Sister/Mum etc so GET ORGANISED.. and keep reading.

I have become such a big fan of internet shopping in the run up to Christmas as you get to avoid the crowds, make sure they have the size you are after and don't end up with the dog-eared rubbish one that's left in the shop of that MUST BUY item that someone is dying for!

I would like to introduce you all to Matches Fashion, the online store where you can pick up designer clothing and accessories all from the comfort of your front room!

Matches stock some of those harder to find designers and has the most amazing gift ideas pages for those family members who you don't mind spending a bit more on but no idea of what to actually buy.

Christmas is a time to spoil and be spoiled so why not pick up a luxe gift for your loved ones? They don't have to cost the earth but it's always nice to receive a designer item. All of the above items I picked out on my wishlist are under £200 and would be very well received by the ladies in your lives I am sure!

Some of my favourite things are the DVF iPhone Cover and Headphones which are not too expensive at £30 and £17 respectively but a nice treat for your gift recipient! I could have gone WILD on the site whilst compiling my wishlist but let's face it, whilst a vintage Chanel bag is the stuff dreams are made of.. who has a spare £3000 to drop on one.. not me that's for sure!

Santa and the elves (mum and my sisters) have all been chasing up the family Christmas lists so I always do a spot of browsing whilst putting my list together and Matches has become a firm favourite in picking a designer treat out! I apparently have until 8pm tonight before I end up on the naughty list so I had better put pen to paper!

Check out Matches Fashion and let me know what your wishlist items are by commenting below!

Style Sunday: Gothic Glam

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2
In the run up to #MCRFW 13 I am going to be writing some posts about fashion!

This week's Sunday Style theme is Gothic Glam.

Millie Mackintosh Portobello Lashes
The trends this season are very gothic focused with an abundance of crosses, leather, lace, black, jewel tones and textures. I went to see Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 today and that has very much inspired today's post!

Kirsten Stewart looks pretty damn gorgeous as a vampire and her flowing dark locks, dark eyes, some incredible lashes and plum lips are stunning. I will definitely be trying to recreate her makeup look this winter!

From a wardrobe perspective here is my take on Gothic Glam from the high street...

Shoe Boots: ASOS, Wolf Knickers: Topshop, Oxblood Velvet Skirt: Topshop, Fur Collar: Forever 21, Gothic Clutch: River Island, Cross Earrings: ASOS, Navy and Black Brocade Dress: Dorothy Perkins, Nail Polish in Bahama Mama: Essie, Lipstick:Illamasqua, Shirt: Dorothy Perkins
I think the gothic trend is fabulous in winter and very easy to achieve with only a few strategic purchases. Adding a fur (faux of course!) collar or snood is a very quick way to glam up your winter wardrobe and you don't have to spend a fortune. Having a variety of textures in your wardrobe adds to the luxe feel of the season and trend but doesn't have to be too out there. You can still wear a fairly classic outfit but pop a velvet skirt in to the mix, a cranberry nail and/or lip, throw on some gold jewellery and you are rocking the goth!

People tend to be a bit hesitant about the gothic trend as they just immediately think oh it's a bit Morticia Adams/Emo/Goth Teen/Black Hair etc etc etc which yes there is that side, but the high street has made it much more accessible.

The Twilight phenomenon and society's new found obsession with Vampires means that this trend has become extremely popular.

You can pledge your allegiance to Team Edward or Team Jacob if you so wish if you get yourself one of these t-shirts!

Manchester Fashion Week will take place in the last week of March 2013. It will showcase well known brands alongside Manchester based designers and is set to be a fantastic week!

I cannot wait to get involved and bring all the news to you throughout the week. The Organisers have promised that #MCRFW 2013 is going to be bigger and better than ever!

So who's going to come down and show your support?

The 100th Post: Handbag Heroes

Ardell Lashes: Demi Wispies, Kiss: Everlasting French Toenails, Revlon: Just Bitten Lipstain in Crush, Bourjois: False Lash Applicator, Vichy: Eau Thermale Spray*, La Roche Posay: Soothing Repairing Balm*
So here we are.. my 100th Blog Post! I am so pleased that I have stuck at it and built blogging into my routine. I am loving developing SweetieSal as my on-going project and it is so nice to be able to do and create something that is completely my own.

Now let's get onto the good stuff.. this week I have kicked off a series of posts based on the festive season, Christmas Parties, drinks, gatherings, spontaneous nights out and generally looking fab and being merry.

Now all us ladies know that looking hot to trot doesn't always come *that* naturally if time is limited and I want to share with you my favourite items to do a superman style spruce up in the comfort of the office, your desk, the pub, train station, stationary cupboard etc!

I think it's always nice to add a bit of glamour by wearing some false lashes, these Ardell Demi Wispies are some of my favourites as they are quite natural looking. The Bourjois Lash Applicator makes application a breeze as it allows you to get right into the lash line and stick them down well. I would highly recommend Duo Dark Tone Lash Adhesive as my go to glue for lashes. They sell the normal one at MAC but I found the dark tone one at Sally's Hair and Beauty for £4ish I think, they also sell it on Amazon and it is absolutely fantastic.
Duo Dark Tone Lash Adhesive

The jury are out on false toe nails but I really like them and think they are a super easy way of getting beautiful looking tootsies in a very short period of time.. I can never be bothered painting my toe nails as mine are so small! You could pop these on in 10 minutes and pull on those peep toes with no hobbit feet to be seen!

I had held off buying one of the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain Crayons but on my lunch today I spotted this rather lovely cranberry shade and thought I would give it a try. I am hooked. These crayons are wonderful! They have a minty scent and are a balm/stain consistency which is perfect for the winter months when the lips get chapped!

And now we move onto skin care.. I was recently very kindly invited to a L'Oreal Event in Manchester which introduced the 'French Pharmacie' brands to Bloggers and Press. I suffer with sensitive skin and have had adult acne in the past so I was really interested to hear all about Vichy and La Roche Posay to name a few of the brands. The two items I would definitely include in my handbag heroes are the Vichy Eau Thermale Spray* and La Roche Posay Soothing Repairing Balm* both which can be purchased from larger Boots Stores.

The Vichy Spray is fabulous for cooling you down when you are having a little hot flush/panic/stress etc and it is also really good for refreshing your makeup if you have very limited sprucing resources! It contains rare minerals that your skin will just drink up and also goes some way to replace moisture that is zapped from your skin in the cold weather and whilst sat in centrally heated offices.

La Roche Posay's Soothing Balm is likened to the cult beauty product - Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. Now I am going to be a bit controversial now and say I don't actually like 8 Hour Cream. I don't get why you would put gloopy, horrible smelling, pore clogging stuff on your face or skin? That stuff has white heads written all over it for me and it's really shiny? I have used it on my lips when they have been very chapped but I am disappointed with it. I don't know if I am missing something but I just really do not like it.

So cue my absolute joy to see La Roche Posay's version which is AMAZING. I love the concept of a 'throw it in your bag' wonder product and this genuinely is it for me. It has a lovely creamy consistency without being too heavy. It is fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin and can be used anywhere.

Unruly brows? Just calm them down with a little of this.. Chapped lips?.. Smooth a little over and pucker up... Tight, Dry hands or cheeks? Rub it in and let it soothe the soreness. I simply cannot recommend this product enough!

Here are some other useful bits and bobs to carry with you!
  • Nail Glue
  • Tit/Double Sided Tape
  • Safety Pins
  • Dry Shampoo
  • Deodorant Wipes and Antiperspirant Spray
  • A Fresh Pair of Knickers
  • Travel Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Spare Pair of Heels
  • Big Earrings
  • Facewipes
  • Backcomb Brush
  • Multi-use Product e.g. Stila Convertible Colours
What are your handbag essentials??? Share them below :o)

Christmas Party Looks: Girl Meets Dress

Click here to visit the Girl Meets Dress Website

This is the first in a series of posts assisting you in the hunt for the perfect dress for the party season!

Whether it be a work Christmas Party, a NYE Ball, a festive gathering back home or a special night out with your pals, I have taken the challenge to find the different options available!

Girl Meets Dress is my first port of call as I know that some of you will want the most amazing dress you can get your mitts on and this site will most definitely be able to provide that for you! Girl Meets Dress has a very simple way of working, you rent the dress of your dreams for either 2 or 7 nights for a fraction of its retail value.

Some of you will probably think well that's dead money but actually let's face facts here.. in a day and age of Facebook, where people seem to have phobias of wearing the same thing twice why not spend £40-£50 on a designer dress rather than spending £100 on a dress that you feel guilty about whenever you spy it in the wardrobe and think to yourself I really *must* wear that again?!

Here are some of my favourite party dresses from the site...

Alice and Olivia Ophelia Dress, Gorgeous Couture Harlow Dress, Halston Heritage One Shoulder Dress, Helmut Lang Satin Blouson Dress, McQ Digital Print Dress

Butter By Nadia Long Jersey Dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs Dahlia Lace Dress, Melissa Odabash Dress, Roland Mouret Agustus Dress, Diva Sophia Una Dress.
If you are thinking the last dress looks familiar, it's probably because Una Healy from The Saturdays dressed her bridesmaids in this gorgeous dress! They also have it in a blush pink and a mint green.

So there we have it!

A nice selection of dresses for you to have a look through.. if any of you go ahead and hire a dress, I want you to email me a picture of you in it and I will do a post featuring my beautiful belles of the various balls! :o)

Weekday Wishlist #16

Mock Croc Bag: Topshop, Corsage Skirt: Dorothy Perkins, Leather Skirt: ASOS Curve, Long Sleeve Swing Dress: ASOS, Boucle Boyfriend Blazer: River Island
Goooooood evening!

Another week, another wishlist.. due to the rainy and cold weather I have picked out wintery items that will keep me warm and can be mixed and matched with things I already own!

This week I am loving;

Mock Croc Bag from Topshop: I think this is a fab size for work and I really like the different strap options it gives. The texture makes it look way more expensive than it actually is and I would be pretty pleased to have this on my arm!

Corsage Skirt from Dorothy Perkins: I love the embellishment on this skirt, it would be so versatile paired with a shirt for work or with a little tee and heels for a night out! I might have to invest in this... :o)

Leather Skirt from ASOS Curve: I love this look of this but this is another where I am not such a fan of the price. This skirt is £80!!! I just could not justify spending that amount on this.. especially given the fact there are some very good pleather/faux options on the high street! But I do love this.. I am holding out for the ASOS sale which is normally very good!

Long Sleeve Swing Dress from ASOS: I saw this on LLYMLRS Blog and loved it.. I am a huge fan of Swing Dresses as I think they hide a multitude of sins and I like this one as it has long sleeves and will again be really versatile for day or night!

Boucle Boyfriend Blazer from River Island: The colour and texture of this blazer is amazing and would be a very welcome addition to my jacket collection! It is a bit different to your bog standard blazer and would look great with a LBD for work or paired with skinnies, ballet pumps and a tee! This one may have to be featured on my Christmas List!

What are you wishing for this week kids?

Hunting for THE Christmas Party Outfit!

Love Actually.. if only every office had a hunk like Carl!
With the nights drawing in and the office newsletter being sprinkled with hints about the upcoming Christmas bash I thought I would bring you some of my favourite Christmas Party styles!

I always watch Love Actually in the run up to Christmas and the above is one of my favourite scenes where Sarah realises that Carl *might* just like her back.. *gulp.. cue some hysteria, extreme nerves etc* and I am positive that some of you probably feel the same way about Alan from Accounts, Matt from Marketing or Ian from IT (you get my drift) and I want you to look your foxiest self at your Christmas Party!

Every party is very different in terms of dress code and what you will be getting up to so I will aim to cover this in a series of posts throughout November and December.

Don't despair if the belle has no work Christmas ball to attend... I will also feature some ideas for Christmas nights out and of course NYE!

*Please note I will not be held responsible for what happens under the mistletoe.. ;o)

Make sure you check back next week where the hunt will commence with a post dedicated to hiring the perfect dress! A new concept in couture dressing on a slightly smaller budget, companies such as Girl Meets Dress make wearing the same dress as your fave celeb an ACTUAL possibility.

Bandage style dress a la Kardashian? No problem! Red carpet glamour in the style of the A-List? Yup!

With new dresses in every week you can pick out what you have dreamed of and strut your way into the party for as little as £30!

I will leave you with the below statement from jeweller extraordinaire Harry Winston.. this brand knows it's sparkle and THIS should be the Christmas time mantra!

Work Wardrobe Wednesdays in association with #MCRFW

Barry M Nail Polish in Grey, OPI Polish in Malaga Wine, Models Own Nail Polish in Nude Beige, OPI Polish in It's Totally Forth Worth It, Models Own Polish in Utopia.
As a part of the run up to Manchester Fashion Week 2013 I will be doing a series of posts based on Manchester and Fashion! Today is Wednesday as you know and the theme is Work Wardrobe Wednesday!

On the official Manchester Fashion Week blog, today's post is dedicated to looking at Manchester PR Firm, Rococo Groups' Office Style!

I thought I would take the Office Style theme by looking at nails.. I think what you can wear on your nails in the office has changed somewhat from when I first went out into the job market as a fresh faced graduate! The general consensus was go for nude or pink if you don't want to come across as unprofessional!

How times have changed... I mean I probably would still stick to nudes or plain colours for in the workplace, but more because it goes with more in my wardrobe than because I am scared of being labelled as unprofessional..  I tend to wear false nails quite frequently as I have freakishly small nails!

I think greys, red wines and nudes go really well with the colours that are on trend this season. I find grey is much more wearable than black as it is softer and makes me feel less like I should marinade in fake tan to avoid looking goth like!

A new addition to my nail polish collection is Model's Own in Utopia and it is so lovely, it is like a chalky pink grey and is unique enough to feel like a statement but also goes with everything!

What's your favourite polish colour for the office?

Beauty Blogger TAG

I have been catching up on the blogs I follow and have found this tag relating to beauty bloggers! I thought I would give it a go too considering how obsessed with makeup I am...

I like to mix up my posts from fashion to beauty to bits and bobs of everything so today can be a beauty day.. here goes!

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I started blogging earlier this year (February to be precise!) and I guess I started as I started reading other blogs and really enjoyed it so I thought I would give writing my own a try. I can honestly say that since starting and taking it seriously I have not looked back, nor has blogging become a chore!

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?

It has to be blogging queen Lily Melrose's blog- LLYMLRS!

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?
It was Models Own Nail Polish.. never even really heard of it before Blogs and now it is one of my favourite brands of nail polish. Cheap, very high quality and a fantastic range of colours.

What are your favourite things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
I used to really suffer with adult acne and makeup was an absolute necessity for me in covering it up. When you have had a crappy time, sometimes putting your 'face' on is part and parcel of facing the world when inside you might not really feel like it. But life carries on and sometimes you need a little helping hand!

An important part of blogging for me is being able to read between the lines of the marketing spiel and get opinions and feedback from real people as to whether something works on a specified issue or problem.

I also get super excited about the smallest beauty purchase and it's been fab getting to know some really nice people who are just the same :o)

What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger?
Never judge an item on how much it costs. My favourite moisturiser is good old E45 Lotion and it is mega cheap.

Fill in your eyebrows - you will thank me for this tip one day.

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
I am possibly even more high maintenance now than before however I have got my go to products that make the process a little more time effective!

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?

What have you got to lose? Ignore any haters/internet trolls and just have fun. Don't worry about the page views, if 10 people read your blog and you have regular correspondence with them then fantastic! Don't be someone you are not as it always comes across and you won't sound credible.. just be yourself!

Name your top five beauty brands!
MAC
Models Own
MUA
Bare Minerals
Bumble and Bumble

Recommend your top five favourite beauty products!

Bare Minerals Foundation
Benefit They're Real Mascara
MAC Blush

Kardashian Kollection is koming..

The Kardashian Kollection hits Dorothy Perkins in just 2 more days! Very excited!

I absolutely love the Kardashians and whilst some of you will think they are annoying reality TV girls I think their brand and business minds are incredible. Kardashian Kollection is the girl's clothing line and will be available in Dorothy Perkins stores around the UK from Thursday!

I can guarantee this will most likely sell out pretty damn fast.. I was invited to the preview sale last night from 6-9pm online and before you knew it EVERYTHING had sold.. that is a pretty amazing feat!

The Kollection caters for sizes 8 to 16 and everything retails around the £40-£50 mark ish.. some items are obviously more expensive and others cheaper than that. I have pictured my favourite pieces above.

We all know that the Kardashian's love a body con number and this kollection is no exception. They have a variety of prints in this shape of dress but I really the black and nude lace print one. I think it is sexy, yet classy and would look really nice with a pair of black or nude killer heels!

Next up in my wishlist is this AMAZING printed tux jacket. I love the colours of this and think it would look fabulous with so much!

Finally I really like this jersey pleated dress, party season is nearly upon us and this LBD is perfect for any Christmas Parties and could be worn with bare legs or black tights, dressed up or down!

Is it just me who is excited about this? It would be a dream to be going to meet the girls this weekend! So I am very jealous of anyone off to Westfield!

Mini Beauty Haul

Models Own Nail Polish; Jack Frost, Utopia, Hot Stuff, Elegant Touch Black False Nails, MUA Undressed Palette, MUA Nail Constellation in Libra
To celebrate me getting a temp job I treated myself to a few bits and bobs from Boots and Superdrug over the weekend! I gave myself a £20 budget which I was able to stick to due to the various offers instore.

I love Models Own nail polish, I think they are some of the best polishes I have used and considering the price I think they give fantastic coverage and have some really unique colours! I have been eyeing up Jack Frost for a while when I saw they were bringing out a range of shimmer/glitter polishes for Christmas and this is so gorgeous in real life, it's really hard to get a good picture of it! It is an iridescent white glitter polish that will look amazing over all different colours!

I finally got my hands on Utopia! It is normally sold out in my local boots so I had to get it when I saw it was in! It looks quite nothingy in the bottle but on it is the most lovely opaque grey/pink/lilac colour! Now I understand why Lily Melrose of LLYMLRS loves it!

I also snapped up Hot Stuff as they were on 3 for 2 so it seemed rude not to! Hot Stuff is a pink and gold glitter top coat and I thought it would look amazing over black nails for the party season!

The Elegant Touch pre-painted false nails are amazing! I love these glossy black ones and they were reduced to a fiver so a bargain! They look really nice on and are very easy to apply.

I have been looking at the undressed palette for a while and contemplating buying it as the colours are really very wearable. I tend to only wear nudes so this is the perfect palette for me! For £4 this is very high quality. The applicator is a bit rubbish but I just use my own brushes and the shadows go on really nicely.

The last thing I got was the MUA nail constellation which is a dupe of the Caviar nails by Ciate. I can't wait to give this a try as the effect is really cool!

What have you slipped into your shopping baskets this weekend?

The Trafford Centre and Key 103 Christmas Light Switch On!

Last night I was very kindly invited to the Christmas Lights Switch on at The Trafford Centre in conjunction with Key 103 which had performances from McFly, Tyler James, Stooshe, and appearances from our Olympic Heros; Jade Jones, Sarah and Barney Storey.

Looking dapper guys!
I was able to catch up with some of the performers back stage and have a chat about Christmas and what they will be getting up to!

Firstly I met with Danny and Harry from McFly who were getting ready for their performance and awaiting the arrrival of Tom and Dougie who were stuck in traffic.. must have been the hoards of girls who were trying to get to the Trafford Centre to meet them!

Danny was unfortunately suffering with a severe bout of the deadliest illness known to mankind.. MAN FLU. But like a real trooper he battled on through and both Harry and Danny talked through how they were looking forward to time off at Christmas, seeing family and friends they didn't get to see as often as they would like throughout the year and having Christmas Dinner! Oh and meeting Harry's nephew for the first time.. all together now.. AWW!

I also asked them what they would be asking Santa for this year, Harry fancies a suit bag as he was jealous of a 'lovely leather' one Danny had.. Danny revealed that he did have a rather nice Marks and Sparks suit carrier, so M&S if you are reading.. make a McFly Christmas and get one over to him!

Danny however was slightly more demanding and asked for a rather expensive car.. seeing as I am RUBBISH with cars I cannot remember what one as it seemed to have a lot of letters and a number and I just get the impression it is wishful thinking...

Excited much?! :o)
Tyler James and Me!
Next I got to meet the WONDERFUL Tyler James. I absolutely loved him on The Voice and those of you who read my blog regularly will know that I recently bought his album and really love it.

Tyler was quite nervous ahead of his performance but made time to answer a few questions. He had never been to the Trafford Centre and was fairly overwhelmed by it's size and the fact that there were 7000 people ready and waiting to hear him! Way to make a nervous guy feel better eh?! Whoopsie!

I asked Tyler what he was asking santa for and he said as he has gotten older he asked for more boring things such as aftershave.. and then he said he would love a number 1 album so get buying people.. let's make this guy's dreams come true!

Finally I asked Tyler what celebrity he would most like to meet under the mistletoe and he said Cheryl Cole!

But only if she was single, as he respected she was in a relationship and wouldn't want to tread on any toes!

BLESS HIM! I have to say he is such a gentleman and lovely guy.. and I'll be honest, phwoar. He is very handsome! Haha.. ok I will calm down now!

I also got to talk to Jade Jones who was one of our Olympic Champions! She is such a lovely lady and was really excited to take part in the big switch on. I made the mistake of making her nervous by throwing the how does it feel that 7000 people are here question in! Again.. whoopsie! She explained how it was all a bit surreal but that she was excited!

So that was it really in terms of chatting to the artists and guests, I hung around back stage for a while and was able to soak it all in! I wasn't able to spend any time with Stooshe as they were on stage first so I sadly didn't get a chance to ask them all about what they would recommend for us ladies in the run up to Christmas Party season, but nevermind!

I have to say though that it really put things into perspective in terms of how much organisation goes into these events and there are some unsung heroes that run around backstage and make things happen so I would really like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Key 103 for making me feel so very welcome and also Trafford Centre for putting on a fab event.

I had a great time as I am sure the other 6999 visitors did too!

OPI Euro Centrale Collection

The OPI Euro Centrale Collection has taken over the blogosphere with some very excited bloggers out there!

And I am jumping right on this bandwagon too as I LOVE this collection.

There are some really wearable shades in this collection and I can't wait to see them in the flesh especially the gorgeous Polka.com which is the turquoise/purple glitter top coat!

I really like how this collection includes a wide range of colours that are a bit different. The coral red looks gorgeous! One of my favourite polishes is OPIs Cajun Shrimp and this looks like it could be a close contender!

What is your favourite nail polish colour? Are you a nudes and muted or a brights kind of person?
